Bernardo Silva finally addressed the transfer speculation surrounding his future, but the Portuguese star is still keeping everyone guessing.

After closing a hugely successful chapter with Manchester City, the 31-year-old midfielder enters the market as one of the most attractive free agents available. Unsurprisingly, some of Europe’s biggest clubs are already circling.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been mentioned most often in recent weeks, while reports also linked the Portuguese playmaker with Juventus and AC Milan. Spanish media even claimed that Barcelona had already reached an agreement with the player.

Silva, however, says nothing has been decided.

"I haven't made a decision yet! But it's clear that I want to play for a club that really wants me. By that I mean a club that will see me as an important player who can help my teammates."

When asked directly about Barcelona, the midfielder carefully avoided giving too much away.

"Do I dream of Barcelona? I won't say anything because I don't know where I'll play. There are offers, but I haven't decided."

The timing creates additional intrigue because Silva remains focused on international duties. He featured for Portugal against Chile and now prepares for another friendly against Nigeria before the start of the World Cup.

Portugal enters the tournament with high expectations after landing in what many consider one of the more favorable groups. DR Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia await in the group stage, with Roberto Martínez’s side expected to progress comfortably.

Silva leaves England after nearly a decade with Manchester City, where he became one of the defining players of the club’s golden era. Before arriving in the Premier League, he also impressed with Monaco and came through the academy system at Benfica.

Now comes perhaps the biggest decision of his career.
