Bernardo Silva has described joining Real Madrid as a dream come true, praising the club's history, Jose Mourinho and former stars including Luka Modrić and Zinedine Zidane.

Bernardo Silva has officially begun a new chapter of his career at Real Madrid, admitting there was never any doubt about accepting the offer from the Spanish giants.
After his contract with Manchester City expired at the end of June, the Portuguese midfielder arrived in Madrid, completed his first training session and spoke with excitement about joining the most successful club in European football.
"It feels special, and I am very happy to be here. There is no need to talk about this club because its history speaks for itself," Silva said.
"I am very happy to be starting and I want to help this team continue winning because that is what Real Madrid does best. I am just another player here to help continue the success of this spectacular club."
"It was impossible to say no"
Silva admitted the decision was immediate once Real Madrid made contact.
"When Real Madrid called, it was impossible to say no. I didn't hesitate for a moment."
"After playing against Real so many times, you understand how magnificent this club is and how special the Santiago Bernabéu feels. Being closer to my family, close to Portugal and in a country with a similar culture also helped. But above all, playing for the greatest club in football history is a privilege."
Reunion with Jose Mourinho
One of the biggest attractions for Silva is the opportunity to work under fellow Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who has returned to Real Madrid for another spell in charge.
"We have been rivals many times, but now we are on the same side. He means so much to Portuguese football. We grew up watching his teams, and he has always represented Portugal at the highest level. I am very happy to work with him and learn from him."
Modrić and Zidane among his heroes
Asked which Real Madrid legends inspired him most, Silva named several players who shaped his own career.
"There are many, and Zidane is undoubtedly one of them. Then there is Rui Costa, who played for Benfica and Portugal, and Luka Modrić, who has always been a great role model for me, both on and off the pitch."
The Portuguese international reserved special praise for Zinedine Zidane.
"Zidane is probably one of the five greatest footballers in history. He played in a similar position to mine, and as a child I loved watching the way he controlled the ball and dictated the game."
With one of Europe's most decorated careers already behind him, Bernardo Silva now begins what he describes as the greatest challenge of all, wearing the famous white shirt of Real Madrid.
