Marko Livaja has a strong offer from Beşiktaş, but the move depends on Hajduk’s title fight. Will the Croatian star finally leave this summer?

Marko Livaja remains the central figure at Hajduk Split, carrying the team through critical matches — including scoring in the derby against Dinamo Zagreb — yet once again finding himself without enough help from teammates.

Dinamo ultimately claimed a 3-1 victory, overtaking Hajduk on the table and delivering a major blow to Split’s hopes of winning the Croatian championship. Not long ago, Hajduk held an eight-point lead and had a better head-to-head record, but a disastrous run — just two points from the last five matches — has left their title ambitions hanging by a thread.

Turkish giants circling

According to reports, Beşiktaş are eager to sign Livaja this summer and are prepared to offer between €6–7 million. While the player is under contract with Hajduk until summer 2027 and has publicly shown little desire to leave, sources close to the Turkish club suggest negotiations have been postponed until the end of the season due to Hajduk’s title chase.

Despite the setback in the derby, the mathematical possibility of winning the league still exists, though much would need to align for Hajduk to leapfrog Dinamo again.

Double-double season for the star

Livaja, valued at €5 million by Transfermarkt, has delivered a standout season with 19 goals and 10 assists in 32 appearances. His agent, Vincenzo Cavaliere, recently insisted that the player had no intention of leaving, but the emotional toll of this campaign — evident when Livaja sat silently on the pitch after the Dinamo loss — could potentially shift his stance.

The big question: will Livaja stay for a fifth season at Hajduk or take on a new challenge in Turkey?
