Boca Juniors continues to struggle, leading to the dismissal of head coach Diego Martinez after a string of poor performances.
The iconic Argentine club, Boca Juniors, is enduring a nightmare first half of the domestic season, prompting the board to take action following yet another disappointing defeat.
After just 5 wins in 16 matches, Boca currently sits in 12th place and has suffered three consecutive losses, including defeats to Racing, River Plate, and Belgrano. This performance is unacceptable for a club that has won the league 35 times and is known for its high standards. As a result, 45-year-old head coach Diego Martinez has been relieved of his duties.
Martinez led Boca in 44 matches across all competitions, but recent form has been dismal. Meanwhile, River Plate, Boca's archrival and 37-time champion, has also struggled by its standards but has shown some improvement, currently sitting in 7th place.
At the top of the table, Velez Sarsfield leads with a five-point advantage over Huracan, with a game in hand, leaving them in a strong position to extend their lead.
