AC Milan will face Bologna in the Coppa Italia final as both clubs chase long-awaited glory. Milan’s last cup win was 22 years ago, while Bologna return to the final after 50 years.

AC Milan and Bologna will clash in the Coppa Italia final, a matchup loaded with historic significance as both teams look to end lengthy trophy droughts.

Bologna, managed by Vincenzo Italiano, secured their place in the final after defeating Empoli 2-1 in the second leg of their semi-final. They had already built a commanding 3-0 lead in the first leg.

This marks Bologna’s first Coppa Italia final appearance since 1974, ending a 50-year wait. Their only cup win dates back to 1974, and reaching the final is a huge achievement for a club experiencing a remarkable resurgence this season.

On the other side, AC Milan booked their place in the final by beating arch-rivals Inter in the semi-finals. The Rossoneri will now have a chance to lift the Coppa Italia for the first time in 22 years.

Milan have won the Coppa Italia five times, but also lost in the final on nine occasions. Their last title came in 2003. The most recent final appearance was in 2018, when they were heavily beaten 4-0 by Juventus.

The final is set to be a dramatic showdown between two clubs hungry for domestic silverware, with decades of frustration on the line.
