Gleison Bremer has urged Juventus to aim higher, calling for stronger reinforcements as he targets trophies after years without major success.
Gleison Bremer has openly challenged Juventus to raise their ambitions, making it clear that fighting for Champions League qualification is no longer enough for a club of that level.
The Brazilian defender, who has spent six years in Italy, believes the time has come for a shift in mentality. Despite securing only one Coppa Italia title so far, he expects much more from the club moving forward.
“For the last six years, we’ve just been playing, and that’s not good enough. We’re Juventus, and all that matters is trophies. Qualifying for the Champions League is too low a goal.”
Bremer did not hide his personal ambition either.
“I want to win. This season was not good; we could have done more in the cup and the Champions League. We will see what happens with new reinforcements in the summer.”
He also pointed to stability within the squad as a positive sign.
“It is important that Kenan Yildiz and coach Spalletti extended their contracts. It is time to get back on track.”
Asked about a possible arrival of Alisson, Bremer kept his focus on the present.
“He hasn’t called me. He is a top goalkeeper, but the club decides. Now we are focused on AC Milan.”
The 29-year-old joined Juventus in 2022 after four seasons at Torino and has established himself as one of the top defenders in Serie A, although injuries have limited his impact this season, forcing him to miss several league and European matches.
Juventus now face a key test against AC Milan at San Siro, as they continue their push to secure a place in the Champions League.
On the international stage, Bremer is back in contention with Brazil, and Carlo Ancelotti is expected to include him in plans for the upcoming World Cup in the United States.
