Carlo Ancelotti announced Brazil’s final 2025 squad, recalling Fabinho and Vitor Roque, while little-known left-back Luciano Juba earns his first-ever call-up.
Carlo Ancelotti has announced his final Brazil squad of 2025, introducing three fresh names as the Seleção prepare for their last two friendlies of the year against Senegal and Tunisia.
The Italian coach, who guided Brazil comfortably through South American World Cup qualifying, will use the November fixtures to test players ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Three new names: Fabinho, Vitor Roque, and Luciano Juba
Returning to the squad is Fabinho, now playing for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. The former Liverpool midfielder earned 29 caps for Brazil but hasn’t featured since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His recall marks a second chance nearly three years later.
Also back is Vitor Roque, the 20-year-old striker once tipped for greatness at Barcelona before reviving his career at Palmeiras. After scoring 17 goals and providing five assists this season, he’s earned a deserved return to the national team, having last played for Brazil in March 2023 against Morocco.
The biggest surprise is Luciano Juba, a 27-year-old left-back from Bahia. Though relatively unknown outside Brazil, he has impressed domestically with five goals and four assists in 28 Serie A appearances, earning his first-ever call-up to the Seleção.
Familiar core remains intact
Ancelotti’s squad still features many of Brazil’s key stars, including Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, Casemiro, Lucas Paquetá, and Marquinhos, alongside emerging names such as Estevão and João Pedro, both from Chelsea.
Brazil’s final matches of 2025 will be followed by major tests in March, when they face France and Croatia — two key tune-ups before the World Cup.
