Veteran James Milner has signed a new contract with Premier League club Brighton at the age of 38.
Gareth Barry, the legendary midfielder for Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Everton, holds the record for the most Premier League appearances with 653 matches. However, his record is under serious threat from the relentless James Milner, who, at 38, has extended his contract with Brighton for another year.
Milner is just 20 games shy of Barry's record. Despite being plagued by injuries since January, Milner managed 15 appearances this season and proved to be a valuable asset to the team.
"I am as motivated as ever and can't wait for the new season," said the former Liverpool and Aston Villa player after signing his new contract.
Brighton's management also extended the contract of 33-year-old Danny Welbeck, securing his services for an additional two years.
