Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly sent a legal notice to David and Victoria, asking for all contact to go through lawyers, in a dramatic escalation of the long-running and deeply personal family dispute.

The long-running Beckham family feud has reportedly taken a dramatic new turn, with Brooklyn Beckham said to have sent a legal letter to his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

According to reports in The Sun, Brooklyn issued a notice last summer asking that all communication be handled through lawyers. The move is said to have left his parents shocked, devastated and confused, as hopes of a quiet reconciliation continue to fade.

The conflict appeared to escalate when it emerged that David and Victoria had been blocked by their eldest son on social media. While it was initially suggested the parents had unfollowed Brooklyn, it later emerged — via his younger brother — that Brooklyn had blocked several family members.

A source claimed the legal letter was misunderstood by the public.

“People think Brooklyn was just being difficult when he blocked his parents. The reality is that he issued them with a letter at the end of last summer, asking for any correspondence to go via lawyers only, and wanted to try and make amends privately, not publicly,” the source said.

According to the same source, Brooklyn felt his wishes were ignored.

“He felt his parents continued to mention him online instead of reaching out privately. For their part, David and Victoria have simply tried to let their beloved eldest son know the door is always open, and that they still care,” the source added.

Friends of the family claim the Beckhams invited Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz to join them in November when David received his knighthood, extending what was described as an olive branch. The couple were also invited to the family dinner — but reportedly declined.

Despite the breakdown in contact with his parents, Brooklyn is said to still be in touch with his grandparents on both sides.

“Brooklyn absolutely adores them and knows how much pain this is causing everyone. He’s tried to keep it low-key so as not to drag them into it,” the source said.

The latest chapter of the feud is believed to have intensified around David Beckham’s 50th birthday, although sources claim tensions have existed for years. Some reports suggest Brooklyn tried to arrange a private meeting with his parents while in the UK, but nothing came of it.

Others trace the origins of the conflict back to Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding. Nicola previously addressed rumours that the row started over her decision not to wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress.

“I was going to, and I really wanted to, but then she realised her atelier couldn’t do it. She didn’t say I couldn’t wear it. I didn’t say I didn’t want to. That’s where it started, and then people ran with it,” Nicola said.

Brooklyn later added: “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try to put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”

For now, however, the reality appears far more complicated — and with lawyers now reportedly involved, the rift inside one of Britain’s most famous families looks deeper than ever.
