David Beckham’s knighthood ceremony was attended and celebrated by most of his family, but Brooklyn Beckham’s silence online has reignited speculation over strained family relations.
The celebration of Sir David Beckham’s long-awaited knighthood has been overshadowed by renewed speculation of tension within the Beckham family, as eldest son Brooklyn Beckham did not attend the ceremony and has yet to comment publicly.
The former Manchester United and England captain received the honour from King Charles at Windsor Castle, in what he described as one of the proudest moments of his life. He was supported by wife Victoria Beckham — now officially Lady Beckham — alongside his parents and three of his four children: Romeo (23), Cruz (20), and Harper (14).
However, Brooklyn, who lives in Los Angeles, was not present and has so far remained silent on social media — in contrast to his siblings, who shared messages of pride.
Romeo wrote:
“No one deserves this more than you. Love you so much. Congrats, Sir dad.”
Cruz also shared images from the ceremony. Brooklyn, meanwhile, has not posted, prompting renewed discussion about the well-documented family rift.
Tension reportedly began in 2022 around Brooklyn’s wedding to Nicola Peltz, when she chose not to wear a dress designed by Victoria — something insiders suggest marked a turning point. Public signs followed, including Brooklyn not acknowledging Victoria on Mother’s Day and skipping family birthday celebrations.
Despite the speculation, Beckham focused on the significance of the moment, speaking emotionally about family pride.
“All I have ever wanted to do is make my family proud. To receive a Knighthood is truly humbling.”
He also addressed his four children directly:
“You are our greatest joy in life and my inspiration every single day. I love you all so much.”
Brooklyn may still share his message once the time difference catches up — but for now, the silence has been noticed.
