Bruno Durdov was on the verge of joining Club Brugge, but the deal fell apart due to high financial demands from intermediaries, according to reports from Belgium.
The final day of the transfer window in Croatia was relatively quiet, despite speculation surrounding Martin Baturina and interest from RB Leipzig. However, one of the biggest stories involved Hajduk Split winger Durdov, who was close to securing a move to Belgium.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the transfer collapsed at the last moment because of excessive agent fees.
"I have learned that the transfer has stalled due to the very high fees demanded by the agents. Durdov nevertheless remains a major target for Club Brugge, who will try again in the summer transfer window," Tavolieri reported.
Hajduk Split reportedly set an asking price of €5 million, including performance-based bonuses, for the 17-year-old talent.
Despite the setback, Club Brugge is expected to reignite their interest when the summer window opens.
