Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, has extended his contract with the club, keeping him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2027.
Since joining the Red Devils in 2020, the highly regarded Portuguese player has quickly become the team's talisman. In just four years, he has made 234 appearances, an impressive figure, contributing 79 goals and 67 assists.
It’s hard to pinpoint another signing since the era of Sir Alex Ferguson that has been as impactful as Bruno Fernandes after his move to Old Trafford.
"Everyone knows how much passion I have for Manchester United. I understand the responsibility and significance that comes with wearing this shirt. I've already experienced some magical moments here; hearing the Stretford End sing my name, scoring a hat-trick against Leeds, captaining at Old Trafford, and lifting a trophy at Wembley. But I wouldn’t have signed a new contract if I didn’t believe my best days at Manchester United were still ahead of me," said Fernandes.
Since his arrival in 2020, no other player in the Premier League has created as many chances for their teammates as Bruno. He has been named the club's Player of the Season three times and is highly popular among the fans at 29 years old.
It's also worth noting that Bruno’s new contract includes an option for an automatic one-year extension under the same terms.
