Bruno Petković is set to leave Dinamo Zagreb this summer after seven years, with plans for an international transfer move, his agent confirms.
Bruno Petković’s time at Dinamo Zagreb is coming to an end, with the SHNL matches ahead set to be his last for the club. The Croatian striker is expected to return to full fitness soon, and his departure this summer is now confirmed as part of an international transfer move.
"Yes, Bruno Petković’s departure from Dinamo is a reality and a plan. If all goes well, the idea is for him to leave this summer. He’s been here for seven years, and we hope he leaves with seven titles," said his agent Ivan Cvjetković on Podcast Inkubator.
A key figure in Dinamo's history
Petković arrived at Maksimir in 2018, initially met with skepticism, but quickly established himself as a key player. His technical ability, hold-up play, and attacking intelligence made him an indispensable asset for Dinamo, cementing his place as one of the club’s best players of the past decade.
In August 2023, he signed a new contract, solidifying his role at the club. After Dominik Livaković’s departure, he was handed the captain’s armband, further underlining his importance.
Despite numerous transfer links throughout his time at Dinamo, Petković remained loyal to the club. However, his summer exit now appears inevitable.
Barcelona's past interest
Back in 2019, reports surfaced that Barcelona was interested in signing Petković, a rumor that generated significant buzz. The move ultimately never materialized, but the player later confirmed that discussions had taken place, even if they never reached an agreement.
"People say where there’s smoke, there’s fire. The media writes a lot of things, and while there were some talks, no deal was made. Maybe that club wouldn’t have been the right fit for me if I didn’t get enough playing time," Petković later revealed in the Utakmicu po utakmicu podcast.
Impressive numbers at Dinamo
During his time at Dinamo, Petković played 269 matches, scoring 87 goals and providing 60 assists, cementing his legacy as one of the club’s most influential forwards.
