Stipe Biuk has reportedly agreed personal terms with CF Montreal, with the Canadian MLS club now expected to negotiate a transfer with Real Valladolid.

Stipe Biuk is closing in on a return to
Major League Soccer, with the Croatian winger reportedly agreeing personal terms with
CF Montreal.
According to transfer insider Lorenzo Lepore, the 23-year-old has reached an agreement with the Canadian club, although negotiations between Montreal and Real Valladolid are still required before the move can be completed.
Biuk remains under contract with the Spanish second-tier side until the summer of 2029, while Transfermarkt currently values him at €2 million.
One of Hajduk's biggest transfers
Biuk emerged as one of Croatia's brightest young talents during his breakthrough at Hajduk Split.
His performances earned him an €8.5 million move to Los Angeles FC in January 2023, making him the third-most expensive sale in Hajduk's history.
Only Nikola Vlašić, who joined Everton for €10.8 million, and Luka Vušković, sold to Tottenham Hotspur for €11 million, generated higher transfer fees for the Split club.
However, Biuk struggled to establish himself in MLS and was loaned to Real Valladolid a year later.
Although he failed to make a major impact initially, the Spanish club decided to make the transfer permanent for around €4 million before sending him back to Hajduk on loan in September 2024.
The return to his boyhood club did not revive his career as hoped.
Fresh opportunity in North America
Biuk returned to Valladolid ahead of last season and made 37 appearances, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
Now, he appears set for another opportunity in North America.
CF Montreal currently sit 11th in the Eastern Conference after 15 MLS matches and are looking to strengthen their squad as the season continues.
According to Transfermarkt, Montreal have the lowest-valued squad in Major League Soccer, with an estimated market value of around €30 million.
For Biuk, a return to MLS could offer the chance to rebuild his career after several difficult seasons and regain the form that once made him one of Croatia's most highly rated young players.
