Brazil legend Cafu believes Barcelona's Raphinha is currently the best player in the world and insists he deserved the Ballon d'Or well before this season.
Brazilian football icon Cafu has lavished praise on Raphinha, claiming the Barcelona winger should have already won the Ballon d'Or, highlighting his consistent performances in both LaLiga and the Champions League.
Speaking to Marca, the former Brazil captain and World Cup winner didn't hold back when asked about Raphinha’s form: "Raphinha already deserved the Ballon d'Or a long time ago. Even more so this year, because of all the numbers and everything he’s done in the league—not just in LaLiga, but in the Champions League as well."
Raphinha has become a key figure at Barça, regularly contributing with goals and assists, and his impact has not gone unnoticed—especially among Brazilian legends.
Cafu also commented on the future of the Brazil national team, expressing his desire to see Carlo Ancelotti take over the Selecão. The Real Madrid manager has long been linked to the role, and Cafu, who worked with him during his time at AC Milan, gave a glowing endorsement.
"I had the chance to work with Ancelotti at Milan for five years, so I know exactly what he’s capable of. It would be great to see him with the national team. We’ll have to wait and see what the federation decides, but I hope they make a decision soon," Cafu added.
