Facing multiple challenges, Samuel Eto’o now contends with Cameroon’s national coach, Marc Brys, threatening to resign over ongoing disputes with the country’s football federation.

Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, finds himself in a growing crisis as the national team coach, Marc Brys, has threatened to resign. Eto’o is already under investigation for allegedly assisting Victoria United in securing promotion to Cameroon’s top division during the 2022-2023 season, which could lead to his disqualification from his role.

Adding to Eto’o’s troubles, the Cameroonian Federation recently barred 62 players from participating in the first division playoffs due to issues of double identity and age falsification. Brys expressed frustration after a match against Kenya, where one of his assistants was excluded from the team bench by the federation without his consent.

In a post-match interview, Brys stated: “They did it behind my back again; they made the staff list without my assistants. I promise that if it happens again, I’ll leave immediately. I’m the one who should decide who’s on the bench.”

With these mounting issues, Eto’o will need to address Brys’s concerns to maintain stability in Cameroon’s national team setup.
