Barcelona will play their first home match at the renovated Camp Nou in La Liga’s fifth round, with September 20 or 21 targeted as the official return date.

Barcelona will finally return to the renovated Camp Nou in the fifth round of the 2024/25 La Liga season, with September 20 or 21 confirmed as the likely dates for their first home game, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish league has approved Barça’s request to start the new season with four consecutive away games, giving the club additional time to finalize construction work at the iconic stadium. The 2024/25 La Liga campaign begins on August 16 and 17, meaning Barça’s return will align with the calendar in late September.

The match will mark the club’s grand return to Camp Nou after over a year of home games at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc, which hosted the team during the stadium's reconstruction.

Before football returns, Camp Nou will host a Post Malone concert on September 12. Once the concert is concluded, work will begin immediately on laying the new turf, which is expected to be fully ready for play by the scheduled match dates.

Originally, the plan was for Barcelona to return to Camp Nou by November 2024 with a 60% capacity, but ongoing progress has now made it possible for that milestone to arrive sooner. The club hopes to welcome fans back into their historic home at a partial capacity for a celebratory start to the new era.
