Napoli’s management is ready to sit down with their top star, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, for important contract discussions.
With the partnership of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen, Napoli may have held the key to a golden era. However, the joy of winning the Scudetto in the 2022/23 season was short-lived.
After a falling-out with the club’s management, Osimhen has already left Napoli and is now planning his next big move at Galatasaray. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis faces a new challenge, as Kvaratskhelia is also expecting a new contract this season, once again showing flashes of his form from two seasons ago.
Fabrizio Romano revealed that negotiations for a contract extension are expected to begin this week. The offer on the table could see the 23-year-old Georgian maestro earn between 5 and 6 million euros net per season.
Such a salary is a significant expense for Napoli, and the question remains whether it will meet the player’s expectations, given that he is on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs.
Italian media report that De Laurentiis is prepared to sell Kvaratskhelia if they fail to reach an agreement on a contract extension in the near future.
