Carlos Tevez has today resigned from his position as manager of Independiente.

Today will be his last match in charge of the Argentine top-flight team, as they face Plantese. The 40-year-old took over the team last summer and, in 31 matches, recorded 14 wins, 10 draws, and seven losses. On average, his team earned 1.68 points per game.

The former forward managed to stabilize the team upon his arrival, but he could not build on that success in the current season and decided to step down.

The club accepted his resignation and officially confirmed the news on their website. Tevez had a valid three-year contract, which he will not complete. This was his second solo managerial job, having previously managed Rosario Central.

It will be interesting to see what his next step in his managerial career will be. He concluded his playing career in 2021 with Boca Juniors.
