Benjamin Šeško forced off at halftime after shin injury, with Michael Carrick confirming the striker was hit in the same area that has troubled him recently.
Benjamin Šeško did not return for the second half of Manchester United’s derby against Liverpool, raising concern after another injury setback.
The Slovenian striker, who scored in the first half, was replaced by Amad Diallo at the break.
Hit in the same problem area
After the match, coach Michael Carrick explained the situation clearly.
“He got hit in the shin when he fell near the touchline. He has been dealing with that area for some time, and he took another knock in the same place. It’s quite simple,” Carrick said.
The decision to substitute him was precautionary, as the club did not want to risk a more serious issue.
Strong season continues
Šeško has scored 11 Premier League goals this season and remains one of the key players in United’s attack.
Since January, he has been the top scorer in the league, underlining his impact during the second half of the campaign.
Focus on final matches
Manchester United has already secured Champions League qualification for next season.
Three matches remain: away against Sunderland, at home against Nottingham Forest, and a final away trip to Brighton.
The club will now monitor Šeško closely, hoping he will be available for the closing stretch of the season.
