Martin Odegaard’s wedding ceremony in Oslo turned chaotic when security forcibly removed a photojournalist, prompting backlash from the media and legal threats against the organizers.

Martin Odegaard experienced an unexpected disruption during his wedding ceremony in Oslo, as a photographer was forcibly removed by security, sparking outrage among media organizations.

The Arsenal captain married his longtime partner Helene Spilling in a grand ceremony over the weekend. Although they officially wed in November, the couple held a formal celebration in the Norwegian capital, attended by several of Odegaard’s teammates, including Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard.

But the festivities were marred by a scene that unfolded as guests exited the ceremony. According to the Daily Mail, photographer Andreas Fadum, who works for Norwegian magazine Se og Hør, was dragged away by two security guards in what appeared to be an excessive use of force.

Se og Hør reacted strongly and announced plans for legal action. "We react very strongly to the fact that the security guards have used physical force against our photographer. He was in a public place to cover a public event," the outlet said in a statement. "They had no right to block off the parking lot or the area around the church."

The incident is now expected to be reported to the police. The Norwegian Editors' Association also issued a statement condemning the incident, saying: "It is very serious that a photojournalist is treated in this way in a public place. We believe the matter should be reported, and will support Se og Hør in this."

The newlyweds have yet to publicly comment on the situation. Odegaard is expected to return to the pitch on July 23, when Arsenal face AC Milan in a pre-season friendly.
