Chelsea have 45 players in their first-team squad and have drawn up a list of at least 10 names they want to offload this summer.

Chelsea are facing a major squad-trimming mission this summer after accumulating an extraordinary 45 players in their senior team. Despite selling goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović to Bournemouth for €29 million earlier today, the club hierarchy and coach Enzo Maresca are under pressure to offload multiple players who no longer fit into the club’s long-term plans.
According to English media, the club has compiled a preliminary 'exit list' featuring 10 names. Some of these players are among the most expensive signings in Chelsea’s history, yet find themselves surplus to requirements.
Among the standout names are:

João Félix, who is reportedly eyeing a return to Benfica, with the Portuguese club ready to buy 50% of his contract rights.

Christopher Nkunku, another high-profile acquisition, is on the radar of Bayern Munich.

Raheem Sterling, the former England international, could also be let go.

Chelsea’s aggressive transfer strategy over the past few years under the new ownership has left them with an unsustainable squad size, and there is growing recognition that outgoing transfers are now as vital as incoming ones.
Even with player exits already underway, Chelsea’s net squad size remains far too large for a cohesive season under Maresca, especially with no European competition to rotate for. The Blues are expected to be active sellers throughout the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
