Chelsea are eyeing Real Betis sensation Jesús Rodríguez with a €40 million offer, as the Premier League club looks to rebuild its attack with young talent.
Chelsea are reportedly preparing a €40 million bid to sign Jesús Rodríguez, one of the breakout stars of the 2024/25 LaLiga season. The 19-year-old winger, who has shined under Manuel Pellegrini at Real Betis, is now drawing serious attention from the Premier League giants, who see him as a key addition for their long-term attacking plans.
Although no official negotiations have been confirmed, the growing speculation suggests Chelsea are keen to secure Rodríguez’s signature during the summer transfer window.
A breakout season in Spain
Rodríguez made his senior debut for Betis in December 2024 and has since featured in 17 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists. His pace, flair, and ability to stretch defenses have quickly made him one of the most talked-about prospects in Spanish football.
The talented winger also played a key role in Spain’s U19 team, helping them win the UEFA European Championship last year, further boosting his profile on the international stage.
Chelsea’s interest: a calculated rebuild
With a crucial summer ahead, Chelsea are aiming to reshape their squad after a disappointing winter window. The situation surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk, who is reportedly dealing with a doping issue, and the end of Jadon Sancho’s loan spell has prompted the club to look for new attacking options.
Jesús Rodríguez fits Chelsea’s profile perfectly: young, dynamic, and with European experience. While his release clause is believed to be set at €50 million, Betis could consider accepting an offer in the region of €40 million, especially as the club looks to balance its finances.
Betis keen to hold on—but open to negotiation
Betis, however, are reluctant to lose a player they view as a cornerstone of their long-term project. Rodríguez has shown loyalty to the club and is not actively pushing for a move. Still, a big-money offer from the Premier League could force Betis to the negotiating table.
If Rodríguez is tempted by Chelsea's proposal, a transfer could materialize quickly, though the Andalusian side would look to negotiate the best possible deal, both financially and in terms of future bonuses or clauses.
