Chelsea are prepared to part ways with Alejandro Garnacho after just one season, with Roma emerging as the leading contender for the Argentine winger.

Chelsea are prepared to sell Alejandro Garnacho after only one season at Stamford Bridge, with Roma emerging as the strongest candidate to sign the Argentina international this summer.
According to reports from Italy, Roma have identified Garnacho as their priority attacking target and have already opened discussions over a possible deal. The Serie A club is also negotiating separately for Diego Moreira of Strasbourg, meaning two transfers involving clubs from the BlueCo network could be completed during the same transfer window.
Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United only last summer, but his first campaign in west London failed to convince the club's hierarchy that he should be part of their long-term plans.
The 21-year-old finished the season with eight goals and four assists in 43 appearances. Despite those numbers, Chelsea are reportedly willing to listen to offers and value the winger at around €50 million. The Premier League club is insisting on a permanent transfer rather than a loan.
Roma had previously invested significant effort in pursuing Mason Greenwood, but with the English forward now believed to be closing in on a move to Fenerbahce, the Italian club have shifted their focus to Garnacho.
Roma would ideally structure the deal as an initial loan with an option to buy, a formula the club has successfully used in previous transfer windows. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho is open to joining the Giallorossi, but negotiations will require compromise because Chelsea want an immediate sale while Roma prefer a lower initial financial commitment.
The Argentine's limited market has also strengthened Roma's position. Despite his reputation as one of Manchester United's brightest academy graduates before moving to Chelsea, few clubs are currently prepared to match the Premier League side's asking price.
Roma are simultaneously monitoring Strasbourg's versatile Belgian talent Diego Moreira, who has impressed in Ligue 1 with his ability to play as a winger, wing-back or midfielder.
Strasbourg are reportedly seeking around €40 million for Moreira, while Roma's proposal is expected to be worth approximately €35 million, plus bonuses and a percentage of any future transfer. Chelsea also retains a buy-back clause in Moreira's contract, giving the London club significant influence over any future move involving the Belgian.
