Chelsea concluded an extremely turbulent season by securing a spot in European competitions, which is a remarkable achievement considering the first half of the season.

Chelsea was long considered the biggest disappointment of the season, as they spent the first half of the season in the lower half of the table. Given their incredible investments in new players, they were constantly mocked by the fans of their biggest rivals.

Sixth place is not a result to boast about for Chelsea, but considering the first half of the season, Mauricio Pochettino's team achieved an excellent finish to the season.

Today, Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 2-1, ending the season with five consecutive victories.

The Londoners are already guaranteed a spot in the Conference League, but if Manchester City defeats Manchester United in the FA Cup final, Chelsea will play in the Europa League.

A positive highlight of this season is the incredible form of Cole Palmer, who has scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists – only bettered by Didier Drogba, who recorded 42 goals and assists in the 2009/10 season.

In the victory against Bournemouth, Moises Caicedo scored a spectacular goal from midfield, and Raheem Sterling also found the net. You can watch the amazing goal by the most expensive player in Premier League history here.
