Chelsea have reportedly told Real Madrid they’ll only sell Enzo Fernández for €200 million, as the midfielder’s future becomes a key topic ahead of the summer window.
Chelsea may be celebrating their place in the Conference League final, but behind the scenes, the club has already made a major decision regarding the future of Enzo Fernández.
According to reports from Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Chelsea have informed Real Madrid that they will demand €200 million for the transfer of the 24-year-old Argentine midfielder, amid growing interest from the Spanish giants.
Despite Fernández being an unused substitute in Chelsea’s comfortable win over Djurgårdens IF, which secured their place in the Conference League final against Real Betis on May 28, the World Cup winner’s name continues to dominate transfer headlines.
Chelsea’s stance is clear: they have no intention of selling Enzo cheaply. The €200 million valuation reflects both the club’s investment (having signed him for around €120 million from Benfica in January 2023) and his importance to manager Enzo Maresca’s plans moving forward.
The Spanish media claim that Real Madrid’s initial reaction was one of shock and hesitation, describing the price as “a considerable figure that has frightened Madrid”. With Chelsea unwilling to negotiate down, the ball is now in Florentino Pérez’s court — and whether Real are prepared to wait, walk away, or revisit the move in a future window.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are hoping to finish strong in the Premier League, where they sit inside the Champions League places, just two points clear of Nottingham Forest in a tight race for top-four qualification.
Enzo’s future looks set to remain a major storyline this summer — but if Chelsea hold firm, it may take a record-breaking offer to pry him away from Stamford Bridge.
