Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Bayern Munich’s reliable bench ace, is heading to the MLS.

The experienced striker has signed a contract with the New York Red Bulls until 2027, marking the first time he will play outside of Europe.

The German-born Cameroon international has had an impressive career, with stints at clubs like Hamburg, Nuremberg, Mainz, Schalke, Stoke City, Paris Saint-Germain, and most recently, Bayern Munich. During his time at Bayern, Choupo-Moting was a dependable option off the bench, scoring 38 goals in 122 appearances.

His move to New York follows in the footsteps of Emil Forsberg, another notable addition to the Red Bulls squad after many successful years with RB Leipzig. The club hopes Choupo-Moting will bring a hail of goals to their attack as they continue to strengthen their roster with experienced international stars.

The 34-year-old striker’s move to the MLS signals a new chapter in his career, where he will aim to leave a lasting impression in North America.
