Slovenian U19 international Lovro Golič has been training with Roma’s first team, as Claudio Ranieri looks to nurture young talent at the Serie A club.
Lovro Golič, an 18-year-old Slovenian defender and member of the national U19 team, has been given a unique opportunity to train with AS Roma’s first team. The young player, currently part of Roma’s Primavera squad, was invited to join senior training sessions as the club prepares for their upcoming Serie A clash against Bologna this Sunday.
Veteran coach Claudio Ranieri, who came out of retirement to lead Roma, is focused on revitalizing the team, currently sitting 10th in Serie A. Known for his faith in young players, Ranieri’s decision to include Golič highlights the Slovenian’s potential to make an impact at senior level.
Golič had to miss a Primavera match to join the first team’s training sessions, a sign of his growing importance within the club. Reports in Italy suggest Roma are preparing to offer him a new contract, as his current deal is set to expire in six months.
Golič, who is keen to transition into senior football, will weigh his options carefully. His performances have already caught the attention of Roma legends Daniele De Rossi and Jose Mourinho, both of whom monitored his progress during their time in charge of the club.
For Golič, the opportunity to train under Ranieri could be a crucial step toward establishing himself in professional football.
