Como have completed another major deadline-day signing, bringing Robert Sanchez from Chelsea after the Spanish goalkeeper made 171 Premier League appearances.

Como have made another major statement ahead of their first Champions League campaign. After completing the signing of Moise Kean from Fiorentina, the ambitious Serie A club has now added Robert Sanchez from Chelsea.
The Spanish goalkeeper arrives with enormous experience at the highest level in England, having made 171 Premier League appearances. Sanchez was still Chelsea's goalkeeper at the beginning of the new season and started their opening league match against Fulham.
His arrival gives Cesc Fabregas an experienced option between the posts for a season in which Como will compete in the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

Sanchez and Kean are only the latest additions in an extremely ambitious summer. Como have also strengthened their squad with players including Trevoh Chalobah, Yan Couto, Samuele Ricci and Luis Milla.
The scale of that investment reflects the challenge ahead. Como will begin their historic Champions League campaign against RB Leipzig, while Manchester United, PSG and Barcelona are also among the heavyweight opponents waiting for Fabregas' side.

His departure from Chelsea had become possible after Xabi Alonso secured a new first-choice goalkeeper. The London club have brought in 33-year-old Argentina international Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa.
For Como, meanwhile, deadline day has delivered two significant additions at opposite ends of the pitch. With Kean leading the attack and Sanchez protecting the goal, Fabregas' squad suddenly looks considerably more prepared for the biggest season in the club's history.
