Como are ready to activate the €6 million buy clause for 20-year-old Barcelona full-back Alex Valle, who has impressed on loan in Italy under Cesc Fabregas.

Alex Valle, the 20-year-old left-back currently on loan at Como, is set to remain in Italy beyond this season. According to multiple sources, the Serie A newcomers are pleased with the Spaniard’s performances and intend to activate the €6 million buy option included in the loan deal with Barcelona.

Valle began the season at Celtic, making 19 appearances—including five in the Champions League—before switching to Como in January. Since then, he has featured in 11 matches and quickly established himself as a valuable asset in Cesc Fàbregas’s team.

Como, recently promoted to Serie A, appear to be developing a clear strategy when it comes to recruitment—targeting Spanish talent. Aside from Valle, the club have benefited from the presence of Nico Paz (on loan from Real Madrid) and Assane Diao (from Real Betis), both of whom have played key roles this spring.

Fabregas building with La Liga DNA

Under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas, Como are comfortably securing top-flight survival, a significant achievement for a side that only returned to Italy’s top division this year. Fabregas’s approach has impressed observers, blending youth development with Spanish technical flair.

Though Como seem eager to retain Valle permanently, his solid half-season in Italy has not gone unnoticed. The young full-back could attract attention from bigger European clubs in the upcoming transfer window. Still, Como remain hopeful that activating the clause will give them a crucial edge in negotiations.
