English international Conor Gallagher has returned to London after five days in Madrid and rejoined Chelsea's training sessions.
No other top footballer seems to be having as stressful a summer as Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who is viewed by his club as little more than a commodity whose sale would greatly benefit their financial statements.
Since Gallagher is a homegrown player, selling him would represent pure profit on the books, which is why, despite his successful season, Chelsea has marked him as someone who must leave the club.
Gallagher spent the last five days in Madrid waiting for the green light to finalize his transfer to Atletico, but yesterday he had to return to London, where he has already rejoined Chelsea’s training sessions.
Relations between Chelsea and Atletico are tense, but despite Gallagher's return to England, the door is not entirely closed on his move to Atletico. The two clubs are still exploring ways to execute the transfer chain, with the potential move of Portuguese star Joao Felix from Atletico to Chelsea still on the table.
