England international Conor Gallagher is moving further away from a transfer to Atletico Madrid.
The attempted transfer of Conor Gallagher from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid serves as a prime example of just how stressful and uncertain the transfer window can be for a footballer.
Gallagher arrived in Madrid five days ago, posed at the Metropolitano Stadium, completed his medical examination, and even reportedly took part in a few training sessions. During this time, he was waiting for the green light from his club, which now seems unlikely to come.
Gallagher's transfer was contingent on Atletico and Chelsea simultaneously agreeing on the transfer of Samuel Omorodion to the English club. However, after a sudden turn of events, Chelsea has now requested Gallagher to return to London on Tuesday and rejoin training under the guidance of Enzo Maresca.
Although it currently appears that Gallagher will not be wearing Atletico's jersey, there is still another possibility, but once again, it is out of his control.
Chelsea and Atletico have resumed negotiations, this time discussing a potential transfer of Joao Felix. If an agreement is reached, there is a significant chance that Gallagher might once again travel to Madrid and finally become Atletico’s new signing.
