Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has taken his first steps on the international stage, making his debut for Portugal’s Under-15 team—and doing so in iconic fashion.
The 14-year-old, who currently plays in Al-Nassr’s youth academy, wore his father’s famous No7 jersey during a youth tournament match against Japan in Croatia. He entered the game in the 54th minute, replacing a teammate after Braga striker Rafael Cabral netted a hat-trick to give Portugal a 3-0 lead.
Before kickoff, Ronaldo Jr was seen striking a pose reminiscent of his father's trademark free-kick stance during the warm-up—a moment that drew attention from fans and photographers alike.
Watching proudly from the sidelines was his grandmother Maria Dolores, who wore Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2010 World Cup jersey to support her grandson on his big day.
Ronaldo Jr is also expected to feature in Portugal’s upcoming matches against Greece and England at the Vlatko Markovic Tournament, continuing what could be a bright future in football.
The youngster’s call-up was shared proudly by his father on social media last week, accompanied by the message: “Proud of you, son.”
Having previously represented the youth teams of Juventus and Manchester United, Ronaldo Jr has followed his father’s footsteps closely. Three years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo revealed his son’s dream: “My son tells me: Dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you!”
While the dream of sharing a pitch professionally with his father may still be distant, Ronaldo Jr’s journey with Portugal has officially begun—and the legacy continues.
