Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he plans to buy his own football club once his playing career comes to an end.
With football stars increasingly investing in clubs, Ronaldo seems eager to follow the trend. Players like Kylian Mbappé already own clubs while still playing—Mbappé owns Caen in France, Ronaldo Nazário owns Valladolid, and David Beckham is a co-owner of Inter Miami. Now, the richest footballer of all time is eyeing club ownership for himself.
Ronaldo: ‘I want to own multiple clubs’
In an interview with Portuguese television station Canal 11, Ronaldo spoke about his ambitions in football after retirement.
“There’s no point in being a club director. If I can be an owner, why would I want to be a director or a sporting director? That’s my dream, and I believe that one day I will have my own club,” Ronaldo revealed.
However, the Al-Nassr star went even further, hinting at plans beyond just one club. “I’ll tell you something else—I hope I won’t have just one, but several clubs.”
Ronaldo’s immense wealth fuels his ambition
With his net worth estimated to be close to €1 billion, Cristiano Ronaldo is well-positioned to enter football ownership at a high level. Whether he chooses a club in Europe, Saudi Arabia, or beyond, his presence in football seems far from over.
For now, the Portuguese superstar remains focused on his playing career, but his latest comments suggest that his next chapter in football will be just as ambitious as his legendary time on the pitch.
