Cristiano Ronaldo left a €20,000 tip at a Greek luxury resort in 2018, asking for it to be shared equally among staff who ensured his family’s privacy and comfort.

Cristiano Ronaldo may be one of the wealthiest athletes in the world, but he’s also proven to be incredibly generous—especially when impressed by good service.

During a stay at the exclusive Costa Navarino resort in Greece back in 2018, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner left a staggering €20,000 (£17,150) tip for the hotel staff who had looked after him and his family.

According to Sportime.gr, Ronaldo made just one request: the tip had to be shared equally among the ten staff members who had been assigned to assist him, including efforts to shield him from paparazzi. That meant each staffer received €2,000 for their work during his 10-day stay.

Ronaldo was vacationing at the Royal Methoni villa shortly after Portugal’s exit from the 2018 World Cup. The villa offers 24/7 butler service and a private beachfront with natural dunes to guard against prying cameras—features that have also attracted former guests like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Following his stay, the resort staff posted warm messages on social media, writing: "It was an honour and a great experience for our team to look after Cristiano Ronaldo and his family. A big thank you @Cristiano for being part of our story."

Ronaldo also shared vacation photos with his followers, including snapshots of his time with Georgina Rodríguez and their family.

Since then, Ronaldo has continued to enjoy a lavish lifestyle, especially after his high-profile move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia in 2023, where he reportedly earns £167.9 million a year through his contract, sponsorships, and commercial deals.
