Cristiano Ronaldo says he’s waiting for the “right moment” to marry Georgina Rodríguez, his longtime partner of nine years, despite referring to her as his “wife” publicly.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have been together since 2016, forming one of football’s most recognized couples. While they share a family and a life in Saudi Arabia, the question of marriage remains unanswered—at least officially.

In the Netflix docuseries I Am Georgina, the couple openly discussed their plans, with Georgina explaining: “They [the kids] are always joking about the wedding… but this is not up to me.”

Ronaldo responded, “I always tell her that when we get that click... It could be in a year, in six months, or in a month. I'm 1000% sure it will happen.”

A love story still unfolding

Though no official wedding has taken place, Ronaldo often refers to Georgina as his “wife” in public. During his Globe Soccer Awards acceptance speech in Dubai, he again called her his wife, prompting speculation about a secret ceremony.

The couple have two daughters together—Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda—while Georgina also plays a maternal role to Cristiano Jr. and twins Eva and Mateo. She is legally registered as the mother of all five children.

Adding to their unique dynamic, reports claim Ronaldo pays Georgina a monthly sum of $110,000 (£87,000), regardless of their relationship status.

For now, the couple remain focused on their life in Riyadh, where Ronaldo continues to star for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Still, fans around the world await the day when the football icon and his longtime partner officially say “I do.”
