Cristiano Ronaldo is being tipped to follow a path from football icon to Hollywood star, with Dwight Yorke calling it a “no-brainer” as the Portuguese legend is already linked to major movie projects and cameo roles.

Cristiano Ronaldo could soon be writing a new chapter in his extraordinary career — not on the pitch, but on the big screen.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is being tipped to make a smooth transition into Hollywood, with former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke describing the idea as a “no-brainer” given Ronaldo’s global profile and star power.

Ronaldo is already far more than just a footballer. He is the most followed person on Instagram, has expanded into YouTube and media production, and runs a vast business empire alongside his playing career. Even at 40 years old, he remains active at Al Nassr after signing a new contract last summer.

But Yorke believes the next logical step is cinema.

“Given what Cristiano Ronaldo has done in the game and what he’s achieved, why would filmmakers not want to engage with someone with his profile and as good-looking as he is? He’s got everything going for him,” Yorke told PokerScout.

“We’ve seen singers and rappers get into acting all the time. Why can’t people from sport do the same? It would be amazing to see him in a big film like Fast and Furious. He’s the most followed person on social media — as a producer, why wouldn’t you want that? To me, it’s a no-brainer.”

That idea no longer sounds far-fetched. It was recently revealed that Ronaldo has been given a small role in the final instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise. Vin Diesel even posted a photo with him and wrote: “We wrote a role for him… @cristiano.”

Ronaldo is also moving behind the camera. He has teamed up with famous producer Matthew Vaughn on a new movie venture under the UR brand. Two productions are already finished, with another one in development. The project promises a “disruptive era in entertainment” and includes major names such as Taron Egerton and Daniel Craig.

Former United coach René Meulensteen has even suggested that Ronaldo’s long-term future could be in Los Angeles, close to Hollywood — and perhaps even close to Lionel Messi in MLS.

“Can you imagine Messi and Ronaldo in the same team in Miami? Or Ronaldo in Los Angeles, so close to Hollywood? That would probably be his next destination,” Meulensteen said.

Ronaldo has already conquered football. Now, with movie roles, production projects and global celebrity status, the idea of him chasing Oscars instead of goals no longer sounds unrealistic.

Given his career so far, betting against Cristiano Ronaldo succeeding in a completely new world has never been a wise move.
