Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly reached out to former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba, inviting the French midfielder to join him at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
With Pogba's Juventus career in doubt despite his doping ban reduction, a move to Saudi Arabia could offer a fresh start.
Pogba’s doping suspension was recently reduced to 18 months from the initial four years, allowing him to return to action by March 2025. However, Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed that the club is unlikely to keep Pogba on its roster, signaling the end of the Frenchman’s time with the Bianconeri.
Rumors of Pogba’s potential move to the MLS circulated earlier this month, with reports suggesting he might follow in Lionel Messi’s footsteps by heading to the U.S. But now, Italian outlet TuttoJuve claims that Ronaldo has extended an invitation for Pogba to join him in the Middle East, potentially setting the stage for a Manchester United reunion at Al-Nassr.
Pogba, who shared a dressing room with Ronaldo at Old Trafford for the 2021-22 season, is eligible to resume training in January 2025 before formally returning to competitive football in March. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old recently tried his hand at acting, making his movie debut in *4 Zeros*, adding another layer to his post-football ventures.
As for Ronaldo and Al-Nassr, they are preparing for a Saudi Kings Cup of Champions round of 16 clash against Al-Taawoun on Tuesday, where Ronaldo will aim to lead his team further in the tournament.
