Spain defender Marc Cucurella has honoured a promise he made before the World Cup by getting a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente after lifting the trophy.

Marc Cucurella has proved that he is a man of his word.
The Spain defender and new Real Madrid player has fulfilled a promise he made before the 2026 World Cup by getting a tattoo of national team coach Luis de la Fuente after Spain's triumph in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The 28-year-old shared photos of the tattoo on his Instagram account, revealing an impressive portrait of De la Fuente holding the World Cup trophy.
Before the tournament began, Cucurella joked that if Spain became world champions, he would have the coach's face permanently tattooed on his body.
Following Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final, the left-back confirmed he would honour that promise.
The tattoo was created by renowned artist Ganga, one of the world's most famous tattooists, whose clients have included LeBron James and Carlos Alcaraz.
The artwork shows Luis de la Fuente holding the World Cup trophy, with the official tournament logo featured in the background.
Cucurella had previously joked that he would place the tattoo somewhere discreet, but he ultimately chose a clearly visible area of his body, making the tribute impossible to miss.
Alongside the images on social media, the Spanish international wrote a simple message:
"Promise fulfilled."
Spain's World Cup victory has already produced plenty of memorable celebrations; Cucurella's permanent tribute to the coach who led La Roja to the title is likely to be remembered for years to come.
