The trial for Diego Maradona’s death is set to begin on March 11, with eight medical professionals facing charges of negligence that could result in prison sentences of up to 25 years. The Argentine legend passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60, with his family insisting that medical malpractice played a role in his untimely death.
With just days until the court proceedings, Dalma Maradona, one of Diego’s daughters, spoke on the 'Ángel Responde' podcast, where she shared her concerns and determination to seek justice for her father.
"In the audio recordings, you can hear how they were leading him toward death, giving him medications and pills he should not have taken. When you listen to it, it’s obvious – it’s terrible," she said.
Fear of the mafia, but a vow to speak out
Dalma admitted that she and her family have serious concerns about speaking publicly, particularly her mother, who fears powerful figures involved in the case.
"My mother is worried, she’s afraid. Afraid of the mafia, of those who control everything, those with money and power. But I don’t care. I know who I am up against, but I cannot stay silent. We want people to hear the truth," Dalma stated.
"My mother asks me to keep quiet and say nothing because she is scared, but I can’t. I owe this to my father," she added.
