The clubs from Saudi Arabia have concluded their recruitment for the new season, and the final days of the transfer window saw a flurry of activity, quickly dispelling the impression that the buying spree in the country had ended.
The type of players being signed has notably shifted, with Saudi clubs successfully attracting a number of players still in their developmental years. Additionally, the number of clubs capable of making high-profile signings has expanded—long-standing powerhouses like Al Ittihad, Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli are now being joined by the ambitious newcomer Al Qadsiah. Clubs like Al Orobah and Al Ettifaq have also managed to secure prestigious signings.
So, what was the haul in the final days of the Saudi transfer window?
Al Nassr secured the signing of talented French defender Mohamed Simakan for €45 million, and for €23 million, they also brought in Brazilian prospect Angelo Gabriel, who will now play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo after making the move from Chelsea.
Al Ittihad, following the signing of Steven Bergwijn, added two more players to their squad, including former PSG midfielder Danilo Pereira and Albanian national team defender Mario Mitaj.
Al Hilal spent €40 million to acquire promising Brazilian talent Marcos Leonardo from Benfica, while Al Shabab signed Daniel Podence from Wolves and Brazilian defender Robert Renan from Zenit. Meanwhile, Al Orobah finalized the transfer of French defender Kurt Zouma from West Ham a few days ago.
