Napoli hopes to secure Danilo for free in January, but Juventus remains unwilling to let the Brazilian defender leave without a transfer fee.
Napoli is reportedly eager to sign Danilo from Juventus during the January transfer window, but they are unwilling to pay a transfer fee for the 33-year-old defender. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus is reluctant to release Danilo without compensation, complicating Napoli’s plans.
The Brazilian defender, whose contract expires in June, was notably left out of the squad for the Supercoppa Italiana. Reports suggest Danilo is no longer in Thiago Motta’s plans, and he already has a principle of agreement with Napoli. Despite receiving offers from Al-Nassr and Vasco da Gama, Danilo has shown a strong desire to join Napoli this month.
Napoli is waiting for a decisive meeting between Danilo and Juventus’ executives. The Partenopei are banking on Juventus eventually agreeing to release the player without a fee, given that he is set to leave on a free transfer in the summer anyway.
Adding to the intrigue, Danilo posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account amid the ongoing negotiations: “What is heroic in a human being is not belonging to the herd.” This message has fueled speculation about his imminent move and his state of mind as he waits for a resolution.
