Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis hints Kevin De Bruyne is close to joining, claiming the Belgian star has already bought a villa in Naples after speaking with his family.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has ignited speculation over a sensational move by Kevin De Bruyne, revealing that the Belgian star has already bought a villa in Naples.
De Bruyne, considered one of the greatest players in Premier League history, has been linked with a summer exit from Manchester City. Now, De Laurentiis' comments have sent shockwaves through Italian football, suggesting the transfer could be closer than expected.
"I know that he has already done the paperwork and, as far as I know, he has already bought a beautiful villa," De Laurentiis told reporters. "I spoke to him, his wife, and his nine-year-old son on a video call this morning. It was really nice."
Despite the optimism, the Napoli president added a note of caution: "Until it’s in black and white, nothing is new."
Should De Bruyne arrive, it would mark one of the most stunning signings in the club’s modern history — a move reminiscent of the glory days of Maradona, further fueled by Napoli’s ambition to return to the top of Italian and European football.
Asked about Antonio Conte’s future, De Laurentiis said he hopes to continue working with the new coach. "If he wants to stay, I’ll be very happy. What is the future of Napoli? Fans, don’t worry — Napoli will always ask questions."
With De Laurentiis teasing the transfer and fans buzzing, Naples could soon become the new home of one of Europe’s elite playmakers.
