AC Milan have renewed talks with Partizan for teenage striker Andrej Kostić, but the Serbian club are holding firm on a much higher valuation.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan have not given up on signing Andrej Kostić, one of Partizan Belgrade’s brightest prospects. The Rossoneri are expected to re-establish contact with the Belgrade club in the coming hours.
Milan previously submitted an opening offer worth €4.5 million, following direct communication between Zlatan Ibrahimović and Partizan sporting director Predrag Mijatović. The bid was swiftly rejected.
Why Partizan are holding out
Partizan’s stance is clear: they believe they hold a potential transformational transfer for the club’s finances. Kostić’s contract reportedly includes a €20 million release clause, while the club’s internal valuation is closer to €12 million plus bonuses and a sell-on percentage.
Complicating matters further, 20% of any transfer fee must be paid to Budućnost Podgorica, where Kostić played earlier in his career.
A blueprint for a major sale
Officials in Humska are determined not to accept a cut-price deal. They are keen to replicate recent regional models where elite talents were sold for substantial sums without long first-team spells, maximising value through timing and structure.
Milan are expected to persist, but Partizan’s message is firm: Kostić is a project for a big transfer and will not be allowed to leave below his perceived market value.
