Dinamo Zagreb are closing in on another attacking addition after reportedly reaching a preliminary agreement with Brazilian striker
Junior Brumado.
According to Germanijak, the Croatian champions have agreed personal terms with the Midtjylland forward, who could arrive at Maksimir either later this summer or as a free agent in January.
January move remains the preferred option
Brumado's contract with Midtjylland expires at the end of the year, allowing Dinamo to sign him without a transfer fee in January.
However, the club has not ruled out bringing the 27-year-old to Zagreb before the end of the current transfer window if an agreement can be reached with the Danish side over a reasonable fee.
That flexibility gives Dinamo two possible routes to complete the deal.
Productive season in Denmark
Brumado enjoyed an impressive campaign with Midtjylland, finishing as the club's second-highest scorer.
The Brazilian registered 16 goals and two assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the team's most reliable attacking players.
He is also familiar with Dinamo, having faced the Croatian club in last season's Europa League.
Competition for Beljo
According to the report, Dinamo initially see Brumado as an alternative to Dion Beljo in the centre-forward role.
Over the longer term, however, the Brazilian is viewed as a player capable of becoming the club's first-choice striker.
Strengthening the attacking department has been one of Dinamo's priorities this summer, and Brumado's combination of physical presence, experience and recent scoring record makes him an attractive option.
Whether he arrives immediately or waits until January will largely depend on the outcome of negotiations with Midtjylland over a transfer fee.
