Dinamo Zagreb’s struggles continue after a 1-1 draw with Slaven at Maksimir, opening the door for Hajduk and Rijeka to build an almost insurmountable lead.

Dinamo Zagreb continues to falter in the Croatian First Football League, much to the frustration of their fans. Despite their reputation as title defenders, the Zagreb side has failed to find consistency this season, and today’s 1-1 draw against Slaven Belupo at Maksimir only deepened their woes.

Dinamo has now managed just one win in their last five league matches, leaving them stuck in third place in the standings. Their inability to string together victories is starting to show in the league table, with Hajduk Split and Rijeka now in prime position to pull further ahead.

Hajduk, currently leading the league, has yet to play their 16th-round match, but a win would see them extend their lead over Dinamo to a massive nine points. Similarly, Rijeka, who are unbeaten this season, could stretch their advantage over Dinamo to six points if they defeat Šibenik in their upcoming match.

While there’s still plenty of football to play, Dinamo’s lack of rhythm is cause for concern. Hajduk and Rijeka are showing far greater consistency, and both teams appear determined to capitalize on Dinamo’s missteps.

Hajduk Split, in particular, has the chance to further cement their position as league leaders, and with a potential nine-point cushion, they would be in a commanding spot to break Dinamo's hold on the championship. Rijeka, meanwhile, remains undefeated and continues to quietly position themselves as serious title contenders.
