Dinamo Zagreb is reportedly eyeing Raul Florucz, Olimpija Ljubljana’s rising star. The Slovenian club demands at least €2 million for the midfielder in what could be a record transfer.
Raul Florucz, a 23-year-old standout at Olimpija Ljubljana, has become one of the most talked-about talents in Slovenia’s top division. The Austrian player of Romanian descent is in the spotlight not only for his performances but also due to an ongoing tug-of-war between the Austrian and Romanian football federations over his international allegiance.
With Florucz’s stock rising, it seems only a matter of time before he leaves Ljubljana for a bigger stage. Olimpija president Adam Delius, speaking to Delo, expressed confidence that the midfielder’s transfer will break records for the club. However, the question remains whether Dinamo Zagreb, the latest club reportedly interested, is willing to meet Olimpija’s demands.
Dinamo’s interest and Florucz’s admiration for the club
According to Croatian media outlet T-portal, Dinamo Zagreb has begun gathering information about Florucz and is laying the groundwork for a potential transfer. At this stage, however, talks are still in the preliminary phase.
Florucz has already hinted at his admiration for Dinamo. In a recent interview with Index.hr, he stated: “I would only return to Croatia to play for Dinamo.” This statement adds weight to the rumors linking him with the Croatian powerhouse, who are known for developing and exporting top talent across Europe.
A bargain turned into a gem
Olimpija’s acquisition of Florucz from Lokomotiva Zagreb for just €100,000 has proven to be one of the best deals in the club’s recent history. The midfielder has flourished in Ljubljana, becoming one of the stars of the PrvaLiga. However, Olimpija’s asking price for Florucz is now reported to be at least €2 million, according to T-portal, a significant jump from his original transfer fee.
The clock is ticking
While Dinamo Zagreb is showing interest, other clubs across Europe could soon follow suit, especially given Florucz’s versatility and potential. Whether Dinamo is willing to meet Olimpija’s financial demands remains to be seen, but it’s clear that the Slovenian club intends to maximize the value of their prized asset.
