Dinamo Zagreb turned down a €24 million offer from Como for Martin Baturina but a deal may still happen thanks to Cesc Fabregas' involvement.
Dinamo Zagreb have reportedly rejected a €24 million offer for Martin Baturina, but negotiations with Como are ongoing and a transfer remains likely, according to Sportske novosti.
The Croatian giants are bracing for significant changes ahead of the new season. Petar Sučić has already joined Inter Milan, Bruno Petković is seriously considering a move to Beşiktaş, and now Baturina is edging closer to the exit door.
Como, who recently secured promotion to Serie A, made a formal offer worth €24 million for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder. The bid included a €17 million fixed fee and €7 million in performance-related bonuses. However, Dinamo turned down the offer, maintaining their €30 million valuation.
Despite the rejection, sources close to the negotiations claim the deal is far from dead. A key factor could be Como’s head coach, Cesc Fabregas, who reportedly personally called Baturina to present his vision for the club and the role he sees the Croatian international playing. Como are aiming to establish themselves as a serious force in Serie A next season, and Baturina is central to those plans.
With pressure mounting on Dinamo to capitalise on one of their most valuable assets, further developments are expected in the coming days.
