PAOK and FC Copenhagen are in advanced talks over Dominik Kotarski, with the Danish champions ready to pay around €5 million for the Croatian goalkeeper.
Croatian international goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski could be on the move to Denmark, with FC Copenhagen reportedly negotiating a €5 million deal to sign the 25-year-old from PAOK.
According to Danish outlet Bold, Copenhagen have been in talks with both PAOK and the player for several weeks, and all parties are believed to be willing to reach an agreement. Although the Danish champions’ interest had not been previously reported, the move now appears to be gathering momentum.
Kotarski has been linked with several clubs in recent transfer windows, including Galatasaray, Inter, Southampton, Augsburg, Parma, and Genoa, the latter of which came closest to landing him. Despite the interest, he remained at PAOK, where he had an outstanding 2023/24 season.
Last season, Kotarski made 46 appearances, conceded 57 goals, and kept 15 clean sheets, helping PAOK win the Greek Super League. His performances earned him the title of best goalkeeper in the league, and his market value has risen to €9 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Kotarski began his career at Dinamo Zagreb before being sold to Ajax at age 18 for €2 million. He played only for Jong Ajax, the club's reserve team, and in 2021 moved on loan to HNK Gorica, which later bought him for €1 million and immediately sold him to PAOK for €2 million.
Now, with three seasons and 139 appearances for the Greek club under his belt, a new chapter in Denmark may be on the horizon. Copenhagen are preparing for Champions League qualifiers and see Kotarski as a potential long-term solution between the posts.
He has two senior caps for Croatia, and was included in Zlatko Dalić’s squad for June 2025 qualifiers, featuring in big wins over Gibraltar (7–0) and Czech Republic (5–1).
