The Football Association of Serbia (FSS) has announced Dragan Stojković, Aleksandar Mitrović, and Violeta Slović as the recipients of the prestigious Golden Ball awards for 2023.
The Football Association of Serbia (FSS) has decided to honor Dragan Stojković, Aleksandar Mitrović, and Violeta Slović with the esteemed Golden Ball awards for the year 2023. This decision was made by the FSS's Emergency Committee on the recommendation of the Technical Committee, led by Stanislav Karasi.
The awards will be presented to the winners on December 29 at a festive New Year's cocktail event in the Crystal Hall of the Hyatt Hotel. This event will also feature the promotion of the new application of the Football Association of Serbia.
Dragan Stojković, the national team's coach, wins the award for the best coach in Serbia for the fourth time in his career (2016, 2021, 2022, 2023).
Aleksandar Mitrović, the all-time top scorer of the national team, is named Serbia's best footballer for the third time (2018, 2022, 2023). Violeta Slović, the captain of the women's national team, has once again proven her class and support to coach Zečević's team in their most crucial matches. This is her second recognition after the first award in 2019, the year FSS introduced the best player selection in women's competition.
These awards reflect the exceptional contributions of Stojković, Mitrović, and Slović to Serbian football, celebrating their outstanding performances and leadership in 2023.
